Do I Need a Menopause Specialist?
The field of menopause care has really expanded in the last several years as more attention is being paid to this time of life. More research is being done on types of treatment as well as management and support options for the issues that often accompany the menopause transition and beyond. Unfortunately, the amount of education on menopause that healthcare professionals receive during training has not kept up with these advances. Menopause specialists have received extra training and certification in the care of midlife women. This empowers us with the tools and resources needed to improve the health of women during the menopause period and beyond.
Our Approach
Boulder Menopause Specialists takes a whole-person approach to women's health care and menopause relief. Using science-backed principles, we create a customized approach that silences the noise from internet fads and helps women navigate this stage of their life.
Working in tandem with a variety of health care professionals and products, Boulder Menopause Specialists is a customized service for those who are looking for specialized care.
Questions You Might Have About Our Practice...
Do I need pelvic exam?
No. We do not currently have the office space and equipment to do gynecologic examinations. We encourage you to keep up with your health care appointments with your gynecologist as recommended.
Do you take insurance?
No, our services are self-pay.
Unfortunately the current insurance/medical system does not allow sufficient time per patient for the comprehensive history, discussion of symptoms, options for management, and the pros and cons of each option. Payment for services rendered is due at the time of the office visit.
Any labs or imaging studies ordered by us will be billed to you by the lab or imaging department and can be paid through your health insurance.
Medications prescribed can be paid through your insurance as well.
We encourage all our patients to have health insurance and a primary care doctor for their general health preventive visits and for acute health issues.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
At this time, we do not offer telehealth services. In-person visits are more effective for uninterrupted sharing of your experience and needs as well as creating and reviewing the management plan. It may be possible in the future to arrange for follow up visits to be done over telehealth if everything is stable with you.
How do I make an appointment? What are the next steps?
To schedule an appointment, click on the Make an Appointment button at the top of this page. You will then be emailed a health history form to fill out prior to the first visit. In that email you will also receive info on signing up for the patient portal to be able to reach me as well as the resources I recommended for you. Our fee schedule is detailed there as well. Once you are signed up, you can send me a message over the portal if you have questions prior to your visit.
